Why the Lamb in The Valley of Decision: A Call to Revival

This year’s gathering is titled: “The Lamb — In the Valley of Decision: A Call to Revival.” It is a continuation of last year’s message, but it also marks a turning point.

As a nation, we are now faced with a decision. God is calling Canada to recognize where we have fallen short—not only in our personal lives, but also in the laws that govern our land and the direction we have chosen as a people.  Joel 3:14 declares, “Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. The sun and moon will be darkened, and the stars no longer shine.”This passage frames the moment we are living in with clarity, urgency, and hope—not fear. Joel is not describing a moment of human debate, but a moment of divine finality. The “valley of decision” is where God’s verdict is executed, not argued. The language is judicial and cosmic, pointing to the universality of humanity, the certainty of God’s decree, and even creation itself responding to judgment.

Joel is communicating that God has already rendered a verdict concerning a future judgment upon nations and peoples who have acted unjustly—both against Him and against His commands. That verdict is certain, even though its execution has not yet occurred. And this is precisely why this moment matters. Because that day has not yet arrived, we are still living in a season of mercy.  Isaiah 55:6 says: “Seek the LORD while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near.”

Joel tells us where history is going. Isaiah reminds us what time it is. Together, they reveal a crucial biblical pattern—God declares judgment in advance so that people have time to repent.

The Valley of Decision is not where repentance begins; it is where repentance is no longer possible. The opportunity to turn, to seek, and to realign our lives with God exists now, before that day arrives.

Seeking Jesus today is not about fear of punishment but about responding rightly to grace before justice. It is an invitation to live a life shaped by humility, obedience, and faith while the door remains open.

That is why we are gathering this year. Christ for Canada: The Lamb — In the Valley of Decision is a call to return—to come back to the One who truly loves us and to respond together as a nation. We invite you to join us in prayer, worship, and reflection as we seek the Lord while He may be found.
